In a worst-case scenario, or if users aren’t able to take advantage of the native GPU features available to these updates, applications like Elements may still be faster, depending on your particular workflow. And at that time, Elements may become the go-to application for the batch processing of images. Elements has the ability to instantly perform effects, such as recoloring and retouching, in bulk.

Or perhaps even cheaper, are applications like Photoshop Express Premium, provided by Adobe’s Aggressive Pricing ($20 for the editor’s 10, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500) or Photoshop Express ($9.99/year, or $30 for three years). Both applications perform many of the features of Photoshop in a simplified way, but they lack the professional level tools of the full Photoshop. Ah, but would that be so bad?

While it wasn’t as speedy as its older iteration, Elements seems to be the pick of the pack. If you just want to process a few images quickly, you may find that you have no other choice than Photoshop. If, however, there’s a need to process your images in a sophisticated way, prepare for the transition.
